Hi all! Once again playing catch up here today! Last week, Kai turned 9 months old! He had his 9 month check up at the doctor earlier this week and he is doing so well! Here is our monthly little round up of all things Kai!
Weight: 17 lbs 14 oz Height: 27 in
Little boy, you LOVE to eat! We haven't found a single food you don't like yet. This last month you started eating meat! So far you've had chicken, pot roast, brisket, and bacon. Brisket was definitely your favorite and I don't blame you one bit. Dad's proudest moment of your life though is when he took you out to lunch a few weeks ago and you had pho for the first time. You absolutely loved it and you made Daddy so happy! We're still nursing, too, and I still love it so much. It really is our special time together.
This last month was full of fall adventures, too! Mom and Dad celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary and celebrated with you up in Milwaukee! We went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant up there called Onesto. We also went to the Chicago Botanic Garden's fall festival and bulb sale! We walked around the garden, got some bulbs to plant in our garden, and did a little bit of shopping from the local vendors. The following weekend we went pumpkin picking! You picked out your very own pumpkin to carve on Halloween! Our last fun event of the month was going to the Spooky Pooch Parade with Wrigley at the Chicago Botanic Garden. We all dressed up in our costumes and walked Wrigley around the garden! You were Peter Pan, Mom was Tinker Bell, Dad was Captain Hook, and Wrigley was Mr. Smee.
You're still a little speedster with crawling! You crawl all over the place these days and we actually have to run after you to catch you. Last week you also stood up on your own for the first time! I thought you were just playing with your toy basket on the bookshelf but then Dad goes, "oh my gosh look at him!" And you were standing up, looking through the basket! You and Wrigley are the best of friends, too. You love to play tug a war with him and he brings you toys to play with all the time.
You're still a toothless little guy but your bottom ones are almost there. I'm ok with it though because I love your gummy smile so dang much. You are still an amazing sleeper and I'm so grateful for how adaptive you are with where you sleep. You've started to finally appreciate your naps and you put yourself right to sleep every night! You're currently sleeping about 3 1/2 hours during the day and 10 hours at night.
Your laugh is so infectious and you've truly been such a joy during a very difficult month. Your smile fills me with such warmth and I am just so thankful for you! Love you so much little Kai Bear, so very much.
